Phew. Problem is, I can’t get the two pins to connect. There are a million examples out there on how to connect two video or audio pins, but nothing in the way of pins with the WMMEDIATYPE_Script type. The pin negotiation process is where I am having difficulty. I have implemented the pure virtuals (DecideBufferSize, GetMediaType, CheckTransform, Transform). When Viewed in GraphEdit, the output pin of my filter has a major type of ScriptCommand (null subtypes), as does the script input pin of the ASF Writer filter. Observing the behavior in a debugging session, It appears that there is a general pattern of two calls being made to CheckTransform(…) followed by a call to GetMediaType(…). This more-or-less repeates about 8 times or so until the negotiation process gives up. It never makes it past these two methods to DecideBufferSize(…).
